Library Director

Cottey College, a leading liberal arts college for women, invites nominations and applications for the position of director of the Blanche Skiff Ross Memorial Library. The Blanche Skiff Ross Memorial Library is a dynamic nexus for information and interactive instruction supporting academic success and lifelong learning in an inviting and collaborative environment. The library's future will center on a creative vision that includes evolving library services.

Qualified applicants should possess the following:

  • ALA accredited MLIS (or equivalent)
  • Ability to anticipate and manage change in library services and information technology; experience with long range planning and the development of a vision for the academic library of the future
  • Experience in managing, supervising, and developing an academic library; knowledge of library operations, systems, policies, procedures, standards and modern trends in academic libraries; experience with academic library budgets
  • Experience in the areas of information technology and information systems as they apply to libraries in several of the following areas: campus wide information literacy, curriculum development, and, teaching and learning
  • Strong organizational and communication skills: facilitative leadership skills; ability to foster team building and participatory management; ability to work cooperatively with a wide variety of internal and external constituencies.

Environmental Studies

Cottey College, a private liberal arts women’s college, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Environmental Studies, starting August 2015. We seek candidates with broad training in Environmental Studies, with interests and training to develop and offer courses that will complement existing introductory and upper level courses. Teaching background and interests ideally include some of the following: environmental policy, law, health/toxicology, green energy, disaster preparedness, and ethno-medicine. Head Tennis Coach

Cottey College is seeking a Head Tennis Coach. This is a part-time position. Duties include developing a yearly budget for the Tennis program, recruiting student-athletes, coaching tennis, and complying with the NJCAA rules and regulations. Requires a bachelor’s degree and three years coaching experience.
