Alma Mater: Cottey College 2009, University of Missouri 2011
Major: Journalism (Convergence with an emphasis in Broadcast), Minor in Economics
Campus Involvement: My interest in journalism began at Cottey, I was a writer for The Spectrum and eventually served as editor. I was also a member of the Chamber Singers, Golden Key, BACCHUS and LEO. When I transferred I worked at a television station as part of my classes.
Hometown before Nevada, MO: Rich Hill, Missouri
Favorite memory at Cottey: Bringing all my new Cottey friends to my nearby hometown, my family has a farm and many of them had never seen a cow before!
Favorite place on Cottey Campus: Dakota Suite! First floor and easy access to Raney Dining Hall made Dakota Suite my favorite place, and my home for two years.
Favorite place in Nevada, MO: Radio Springs Park, it's so nice no matter the season. We searched for creatures to examine in Biology in the fall, took pictures of all the holiday lights in the winter and went for walks around the lake during the spring.
Favorite restaurant in Nevada, MO: I'm a sucker for chips and dip so any Mexican restaurant is a win.
Favorite movie: While I like a good movie, I'm more of TV girl, I especially like old sitcoms like Roseanne and Seinfeld
Favorite food: Do I have to pick just one? Crab Rangoon, cinnamon rolls (Made by Mom) and molasses cookies.
Favorite Season: Changing ones! Seeing the leaves in the fall, the first snow flakes, the leaves coming back and the first really warm day of summer.
Hobbies: I enjoy spending time with my family, I have four sisters and several pets! I like going to concerts (I'm a big country music fan), dream shopping for everything from shoes to kitchen appliances, and reading all kinds of blogs.
