Life on Campus

Socially Speaking

What happens on a campus designed just for women? With all the clubs (more than 40!), athletics (NJCAA Division II and intramural), performances, and off-campus trips (into town and overseas), there's always something going on. There are dances and celebrations and, yes, opportunities to meet boys too. That's enough to keep you busy when you're not in class, studying, or involved in one of Cottey's many learning and leadership opportunities.

Traditions

And then there are the Cottey traditions - ducks, daisies, duck jackets, Hanging of the Greens, step sing, and more - handed down throughout the years from one class to the next. Some of our traditions go back to the earliest years of the College, others have evolved over time. There's always room for new traditions too!

"Sweet" Suite Life

One of the most unique aspects of life at Cottey is our suite-style living. Each suite is comprised of a central common living room (for movie nights, long conversations, games, and study groups), kitchenette, and a large bathroom. Around this central area are five to six single or double bedrooms. With 10 to 14 women living in each suite. It's the home for the family you build away from home.

While the refrigerator, microwave, and hot plate in the kitchenette means you can prepare your own meals, you're not going to want to miss out on what Chef Michael Richardson is preparing in Raney Dining Room. Ask any of our alumnae and they'll tell you that the food here really is great. Chef Richardson, a former restaurant chef, treats each suite to an annual 5-course gourmet meal and Sunday brunches that are more like feasts. We think you'll be raving about the food here, too.

Life-long Friendships

Ask most women what they love about Cottey and they'll tell you that what they most cherish is the friends they make through all of those experiences listed above. There are relationships that really do last a lifetime.
