Cottey Presents “Give ‘Em Hell, Harry!” on November 12

Date Posted: November 4, 2019 Author: Steve Reed

Clifton Truman Daniel will portray President Harry S Truman in Give ‘Em Hell, Harry! on Tuesday, November 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts.

Give ‘Em Hell, Harry! By Samuel Galluy is a faithful and often humorous portrayal of President Harry S Truman’s life and presidency. It spans his childhood, his “political apprenticeship” as a judge in Jackson County, Missouri, his years in the U.S. Senate, and his momentous two terms as President. Actor James Whitmore originated the role in 1975. Clifton Truman Daniel took up the mantle in October 2017 marking the first time in history a U.S. President would be portrayed onstage by a direct descendant.

Tickets for Give ‘Em Hell, Harry! are $7 for adults and $5 for those under age 18 or over age 62. Tickets will be available at the door the evening of the performance.

The Center for the Arts is on the northeast corner of Austin and Tower streets in Nevada, Missouri.
