Brianne Fulton Miller

Brianne Fulton, assistant professor of art, received her A.A. from Cottey College, her B.F.A. (photography) from Truman State University and her M.F.A. (ceramics) from Fort Hays State University. Her graduate work and exhibition, entitled “Lovely Hungers”, focused on the expression of female desire through the template of the ceramic figurine. She has exhibited her work in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Wyoming, and has a piece in the permanent collection of the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute in Jingdezhen, China. Her research interests include historical and contemporary women artists, popular culture, and the progression of sculptural media in contemporary art.

Professor Fulton has taught since 2009, and began teaching at Cottey in the fall of 2012. Additional experiences include teaching at Crowder College, Neosho, Missouri, and serving as a graduate teaching assistant at Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas.

Currently, Professor Fulton teaches Ceramics I and II, 2D Design, 3D Design, Sculpture, Art Appreciation, and Survey of Art History I and II. She is the sponsor for ACCA, Cottey’s art club.

Professor Fulton is a Cottey alumna, a P.E.O., and has several family members who also work at the College. She is passionate about teaching in an environment that meant so much to her in her developmental years.
