SARAH POLO, PH.D.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ENGLISH

Dr. Polo earned her Bachelor of Science from Missouri Western State University, her Master of Arts from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and her Ph.D. from the University of Kansas. She joined Cottey College in 2019.

Dr. Polo serves as writing program administrator for Cottey’s first-year writing program, and she teaches courses in first-year writing, professional writing, writing pedagogy, digital and multimodal composition, and more. Dr. Polo is also a faculty advising editor for the undergraduate research journal, Young Scholars in Writing.

Dr. Polo’s research focuses on histories of the field of rhetoric and composition, archival research, rhetorical genre studies, and writing program administration.
