Softball Signees for the 2019-2020 Season

Emily Adams

Emily Adams attended Branson High School in Branson Missouri.  She is an incredibly involved student and has been on the Honor Roll throughout her career and was named to the Academic All-State Team her sophomore year. She is also a member of the FCCLA and the Interact Clubs in addition to playing softball for Branson. Emily had a tremendous senior season for the Pirates by breaking two school records. Emily set the school home run record with 6 and the school RBI record with 31 and was also able to contribute a .382 batting average. She was All-Central Ozark Conference Honorable Mention during her senior year and plays travel softball for the Harrison Inferno.

Melina Bueno

Melina Bueno attended Westview High School in Avondale Arizona.  She is an incredible student and member of her community. She is a member of the National Honor Society, is a two time recipient of the Superintendent’s Award and volunteers with numerous projects that are important to her. Melina volunteers for First Friday, with Back to School Supplies, School Operation Revitalization, and participates with the Autism Walk. In addition to all of this Melina is a 1st Team All-Region outfielder that played on a highly successful Westview team that won their Region each year for the last 3 years. Melina uses her incredible speed and softball IQ to hit at the top of the lineup for the Arizona Bombers travel team coached by her father Greg Bueno.

Skylar Chappell

Skylar Chappell attended Woodland High School in cartersville Georgia.  She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society, and is a Scholar Athlete for all 4 years at Woodland High School. She comes from an incredible background on the field playing for a high school program that made it to the Sweet 16 twice during her career and finished as Region Champions and County Champions during her senior year. Skylar was named to the All-County team in 2016 and was an Honorable Mention All-Region honoree her senior year. Skylar also plays Gold travel softball and competes in some of the top tournaments in the country for the Georgia Fire 18u Gold coached by Evan Johnson.

Saydee Christenson

Saydee Christenson attended Mountain View High School in Vancouver Washington.  She is an offensive force and brings great speed from the left side of the plate. She was honored as 2nd Team All-League DP (Designated Player) twice for the Thunder with a senior season upcoming to hopefully make it three years in a row. Saydee enjoys volunteering at softball camps and has served as a student leader at Outdoor School. She is also a member of the Red Cross club at Mountain View High School. Saydee is also a major player for the Washington Illusion travel organization that competes in tournaments up and down the west coast.

Lacey Cruz

Lacey Cruz attended Oshkosh West high School in Oshkosh Wisconsin.  She received both First and Second Team All-Conference recognition during her career and finished second in her conference in strikeouts during her Junior year. She was also All-Area Honorable Mention her freshman year and had a .380 batting average for her junior season. Lacey plays travel softball for the USSSA State Champion Oklahoma Intimidators and has faced some of the top competition in the country in an extremely tough high school conference and throughout her travel season.

Maya De Sota

Maya De Sota attended Millikan High school in Long Beach California and is a tremendous student and integral part of her local community. She was a member of Millikan’s Highest Honor Roll for outstanding academic achievement and even received the Presidential Award from Barack Obama in 2017. Maya is an avid volunteer at Millikan softball camps, a local marathon devoted to breast cancer research, her local church, and has helped out at a local nursing home as well. Maya is also held in high regard for her ability on the field. During her freshman year she was a MLB Youth Academy Player of the month and named to the All-League Second Team as a catcher. She was named to the All-League First Team her Sophomore year in her natural position at SS. Maya’s Junior year was a special one as she was once again named to the All-League First Team, but she was also the Millikan Athlete of the Month for May, the Best Offensive Player of the Year for most hits, runs, and rbi, and Maya was selected by the Press Telegram as a part of the 2018 California High School Dream Team.

Jordan Gibson

Jordan Gibson attended Roseburg High School in Roseburg Oregon.  Jordan is a great student that is also involved in the community. She received the English award at Roseburg High School and placed 6th at FBLA Regionals in the job interview portion. She also enjoys volunteering at local softball camps and at FBLA events.

Jordan is a 4-year varsity starter at third base and received both 2nd and 1st Team All-League Infield honors prior to her senior year. She was also honored with the Craig Munion Sportsmanship Award at Roseburg High School. She is batting leadoff during her senior season and is batting .473 and looks to cap off her great high school career in spectacular fashion in the coming weeks. Jordan discovered Cottey at The Best of the Best hosted by USA Preps and currently plays for the Northwest Bullets.

Kristen Hurst

Kristen Hurst attended Rison High School in Rison Arkansas.  She has been awarded with academic awards in English, Economics, Accounting, and Banking during her high school career. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Beta Club, and has been working on her Career Readiness Certification as well. On the field Kristen has been the driving force behind Rison’s success for several years. She was on the All-District Tournament Team in 2016 and helped the Wildcats win the 2016 District Championship. In 2017 Kristen was an All-State and All-Conference pitcher and was the MVP of the 2A State Championship game helping Rison win their first ever State Championship in softball. She followed up that campaign with yet another All-Conference selection in 2018.

Lauren Johnson

Lauren Johnson attended Lockport Township High School in Lockport Illinois.  She is an incredible student that has been recognized on the High-Honor roll 6 times and is currently ranked in the top 10% of her class! She is a member of the National Honor Society and is an Illinois State Scholar. When Lauren isn’t perfecting her game or dominating in the classroom she works often and loves volunteering by helping softball and volleyball teams.

Lauren is a strong defender at multiple positions and a dual threat on offense from the left side. She combines good speed with natural power to make her a threat every time she comes to the plate. She has been named All-Area Southtown, All-Area Joliet, and All-Conference during her career at Lockport Township High School. Lauren also was named to the WJOL All-Tournament Team after a thrilling tournament championship this season.

Alyssa Montoya

Alyssa (Chicken) Montoya attended Del Valle High School in Del Valle Texas.  Chicken is an outstanding student having received Del Valle’s Academic Achievement Award in both 2016 and 2017. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and has balanced a highly competitive softball schedule. Alyssa has been a four Varsity starter at Del Valle and was the team’s MVP for 2018 and was also named 1st Team All-District as well as Academic All-District. She also plays for the Texas Glory CTX 18u coached by Vanessa Arrellano and Yazmin Meraz. In 2015 she was the USSSA Southern Nationals Pitching MVP, was a 2016 Silver Slugger recipient, and was a 2017 TCS Sparkler All-American!

Baylee Morris

Baylee Morris hails from Purcell Oklahoma and attends Washington High School.  Baylee, like most of our student athletes, is an incredible student and has been a member of the National Honor Society.. Baylee was an instrumental part of Washington’s success over the last four years and had an incredible high school career. The team won the 2015 State Championship, was a State Semi-finalist in 2016 and 2017 and then finished as the State Runner-up for 2018. Baylee also has had tremendous success with the Impact Gold in the summer. Coach Chris Franks and the Impact Gold were the 2016 USSSA Elite Champions, the DFW Qualifier Champion in 2017, and were finalists in The Gauntlet in 2018. Baylee also loves to volunteer at the Christmas Toy Drive each year and was the NASA Powerlifting State Champion and was even able to capture state records in bench press, squat, and the dead lift!

Aryana Palencia

Aryana Palencia attended Saint Mary’s High School in phoenix Arizona.  She is a fantastic 3 year Honor Board student and was even named as an All-American in the All-Academic games in Colorado. She received the Horace Pierie Award at Saint Mary’s for being the hardest working and most overall complete player. Aryana has been named to the Second Team All-Region and Honorable Mention Team during her high school career to date. During her free time she also likes to volunteer at the St. Mary’s Food Bank. Aryana also plays at the highest level for the Arizona Bombers coached by Greg Bueno. She plays an outstanding second base, but can play basically anywhere on the diamond at a high level. Aryana has a tremendous mix of power and speed and will bring tremendous work in the classroom, heart, work ethic, and passion for the game to the program.

Erin Patrick

Erin Patrick hails from Apple Valley California and plays with the So Cal Dirt Dogs in the summer.  She is a tremendous student athlete and will bring some much needed energy, enthusiasm, and a true love for the game to the program immediately. She will be a 4-year varsity team member for Apple Valley High School and was named Defensive Player of the Year her sophomore year. Erin plays at a high level continuously in California for the So Cal Dirt Dogs when she isn’t competing for Apple Valley. She also enjoys volunteering to help preschool children at her local church and has also been a volunteer assistant for a local little league baseball team. Erin is also passionate about her school serving as an ASB member for all 4 years.

Karina Ramirez

Karina Ramirez attended Younker High School in Buckeye Arizona.  She is an outstanding Dean’s list student and is in the top 25% of her class. She competed in 3 varsity sports at Younker, playing 4 years of varsity softball, 3 years of varsity basketball, and a year of varsity golf. She was a member of the All-Academic team, received her team’s MVP award, and was named as a 1st Team All-Region, 2nd Team All-Region, and Honorable Mention athlete during her career. Karina plays showcase softball for the Arizona Bombers coached by Greg Bueno. She brings an incredible wealth of top level experience, elite speed, and an outstanding all around offensive and defensive game.

Rachael Young

Rachael Young attended Brownsburg High School in Brownsburg Indiana and discovered all that Cottey had to offer while playing at the St. Louis Softball Showcase.  She received her academic letter last season and was also a two time Honorable Mention Scholastic Art Competition recipient. Rachael is also a member of HOSA and volunteers at the Humane Society. She has played at the Varsity level for Brownsburg while also playing for the Indiana Shockwaves at an extremely high level all summer.
