Clubs and Organizations
With more than 25 clubs and organizations, Cottey has a wide range of activities. Whether your interests are academic in nature, or lean toward cultural pursuits, social activism, service activities, religion, or general recreation, you’re sure to find something that fits.
Most organizations are open to all students, but a few base membership on standards of achievement. Honor organizations, for example, have academic requirements for membership.
If you can’t find a club you like at Cottey, we support students who want to start their own! We do require approval from the Vice President of Student Life, but Cottey loves when students take the initiative and express themselves.

Student Groups
AAUW is an organization that promotes education and equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change.
A handpicked group of athletes from every sport comes together to work on the image and the life of an athlete at Cottey.
A place to learn and understand the celestial bodies, their origin, and changes along with the role of science in exploration and understanding the universe.
Bible Study Club creates a space to learn and read the Bible together with like-minded people and apply it to your life.
If you need a laugh, this is the place to go. Share your love of comedy and become a funnier person at the same time.
Crochet club creates a space to Learn how to crochet, teach others how to crochet, Crochet together, spend time together, bond over crocheting, and create crochet projects.
DECA prepares emerging business leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.
FCA strives to focus on present and past athletes and to present the gospel of Jesus Christ to them.
Promote equal rights, global understanding, social responsibility, and leadership development through civic engagement and community volunteerism.
The History Club meets to learn about aspects of history and how to learn from the past.
IFC increases understanding among Cottey’s international students and U.S. students. Members share ideas, customs, and cultures about the countries represented on campus.
French Club members explore French language and culture.
Promotes equality and acceptance among the LGBTQ+ community while also serving as a safe space for all students.
The purpose of the CRC club is to provide an opportunity for students at Cottey College to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
Plans, promotes, and produces performances by popular musicians, comedians, bands, jugglers, magicians, hypnotists, etc. Other events may include study breaks, dances, grocery BINGO, and various types of free programming. Events are free to all Cottey students and employees.
Members share a passion for environmental concerns. SAVE often initiates campus and community awareness and action programs to help preserve and protect our environment.
Educates the community about sexual health, spreads sex/body positivity, encourages safety in sexual practices, and inspires sexual empowerment.
The official voice of the student body. Through SGA, students participate in campus government, the management of student activities, and student discipline.
The purpose of this club is to provide an opportunity to collaborate on medical school applications, study for the MCAT, and engage in related activities for the purpose of creating a supportive and empowering community. It offers a unique support network for women aspiring to pursue a career in medicine, acknowledging the challenges they may face in a traditionally male-dominated field.
Provides an opportunity for students of Cottey College to motivate each other and to practice swimming and other water activities as a community.
Helps spread the love of playing tennis by creating a space to play with one another and teaching others to play.
HONOR SOCIETIES
The academic honor society promotes academic excellence and exemplary character among college and university students and honors those who achieve such distinction.
The national honorary foreign language society bases membership on academic standing in foreign languages.
Alpha Psi Omega is the national honorary dramatics fraternity that honors its third- and forth-year members for their work in college theatre. Members promote the performing arts as well as serve as the technical crew for special events.
The purpose of PES is to recognize and encourage scholarship among students. To achieve this purpose, PES will provide opportunities for the development of leadership and service in an intellectual climate, for the exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship among scholars, and for the stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.
The National English Honorary Society publishes The Image Tree (the campus literary magazine) and sponsors speakers and events for the campus. Cottey’s chapter was the first in the nation to be formed.

Class Organizations
CSC is composed of all upper-class students. The CSC executive board serves primarily as a traditions programming board to host Cottey tradition events that promote bonding and connection while also sharing Cottey history.
Every student in their first-year at Cottey is considered a member of fcc. The fcc executive board leads their class in participating in supplementary activities/attending the activities held by CSC.
