Cottey College tied for first place as Best College in Missouri as ranked by College Consensus in its survey of the Best Colleges and Universities in Missouri for 2018. The ranking is found online at www.collegeconsensus.com/rankings/best-colleges-mo/. Cottey and Washington University in St. Louis were both listed as the top Missouri institution.
“It is gratifying to see once again that Cottey is one of the top educational institutions in the state, the region, and the nation,” said Dr. Jann Weitzel, president of Cottey College. “We at Cottey know that this college is a place where women can create their incredible futures, and in the last few years, organizations that rank colleges and universities are recognizing that, too.”
Last spring, College Consensus announced Cottey ranked sixth in Best Women’s Colleges in America and first among Best Regional Colleges-Midwest. Cottey was also listed at 49 among all colleges in the U.S. out of 990 ranked institutions.
“One of the factors College Consensus uses in its rankings is input from students. It is a point of great pride for me that our students and alumnae think so highly of their Cottey education. Our faculty come to Cottey because they want to teach and they teach with passion. Students recognize that our professors are here for them, and they get the very best of instruction in a rigorous academic program. Prospective students and their families can be assured that Cottey offers a top-notch education that is valued by its alumnae and employers,” added Dr. Weitzel.
College Consensus looks across the crowded landscape of college rankings and boils it all down to a functional rating. The Publisher Rating portion of the College Consensus is based on published rankings by numerous reputable ranking agencies, including U.S. News & World Report, Forbes, and Wallethub. The Student Review Rating includes verified student reviews from sites like Niche, Students Review and Unigo, summed up into one rating. Students’ appreciation for their Cottey experience became a deciding factor in the College’s high ranking.
