Visiting Assistant Professor of Music

Cottey College, a private liberal arts and sciences college for women, invites applications for a full-time visiting assistant professor of woodwinds/theory, starting August 2023. We seek a candidate to teach applied woodwinds for beginners through advanced students, music theory, and aural skills classes. Other courses such as beginning guitar, music history, or music appreciation may be substituted for advanced theory and aural skills courses depending on faculty specialties. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. or D.M.A. in music and experience teaching woodwinds and theory/aural skills in higher education; however, candidates with a master’s degree in music and experience teaching woodwinds and theory/aural skills will also be considered.

Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre

Cottey College, a private liberal arts and sciences institution for women, invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre for the 2023-24 academic year. We are seeking vibrant candidates to teach a full range of courses in theatre, including Dramatic Literature, Introduction to Theatre, Performance of Literature, Script Analysis, And Theatre of Social Change to name a few. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research and pedagogical commitments reflect a diverse approach that acknowledges issues of gender, race, and leadership. Required qualifications include a terminal degree in theatre. Desired qualifications include ability to teach speech communication courses (e.g., Fundamentals of Speech, Interpersonal Communication) and/or ability to design for theatre productions. Additional duties may include recruitment, support for our secondary education degree with a certification in speech and theatre, and service to the college. The teaching load is typically four courses per semester that may include rotation of a course that entails directing a theatre production.

Associate Director of Admissions

Job Description:Under the general direction of the vice president for student life and enrollment, the associate director of admissions is responsible for assisting with the management of the admissions process at the institution, which includes overseeing the recruitment and enrollment of new students, supervising the enrollment counselors, developing and implementing admissions policies and procedures, and helping to ensure that the institution meets its recruitment goals. In addition, the Associate Director will work in an assigned territory to perform a wide range of admission, outreach, and recruitment duties to articulate the vision and mission of Cottey College. At times, the position requires alternative work hours outside of a traditional 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. work week with some weekends as well as limited travel.

Student Accounts Specialist

Job Description: The Student Accounts Specialist is responsible for all aspects of student billing, including ensuring all charges and financial aid are properly posted. This position works directly with students with a customer service orientation, ensuring that all collection activities (current and past due) are completed by the team and are compliant with company policies. This position will complete daily/monthly General Ledger processing, account reconciliations and review student charges.
The Student Accounts Specialist will be highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. It is also important to display excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. The ability to interact with a wide variety of consumers in a positive and professional manner is crucial.

Assistant or Associate Professor of Criminology

Assistant or Associate Professor of Criminology
Cottey College, a leading private liberal arts and sciences college for women, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Criminology, starting August 2023. Teaching load typically includes four courses each semester. The successful candidate should have a graduate degree (PhD preferred but ABD considered) in criminology or in sociology with a specialization in criminology and experience in teaching courses in criminology and sociology.
