Cottey/Nevada Community Picnic and Partner Fair August 24

Cottey College, together with the City of Nevada and the Nevada/Vernon County Chamber of Commerce, will host the 2019 Community Picnic and Partner Fair on Saturday, August 24, from 6-8 p.m. at the Franklin P. Norman Community Center.

Local businesses, civic organizations, and churches are invited to register for the event. Designed to showcase the community to incoming Cottey College students and their families, the theme for this year’s event is “Welcome to Incredible.”

Funded by a grant through Missouri Campus Compact, the Community Partner Fair allows students to become familiar with area businesses, civic organizations, and churches. Additionally, the event provides the opportunity for local businesses and organizations to recruit Cottey College students for volunteer opportunities, service learning projects, local internships, and undergraduate research.

Exhibitors are encouraged to showcase their products and services through displays, promotional materials, samples, giveaways and demonstrations.
Participation in the fair is free to any business, church, or civic organization in Vernon County. Student-athletes from Cottey College will be available to assist exhibitors with their setup on the day of the event.
