NEVADA, MO—Cottey College is once again ranked as the #1 Best Regional College in the Midwest in the U.S. News & World Report 2022-2023 Best Colleges Rankings.

This marks the seventh consecutive year Cottey has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report and the second time in three years that the College has been ranked as the #1 Best College in the Midwest Region. In addition, Cottey was also ranked #12 in Social Mobility and #26 in Best Value School in the Regional Colleges rankings.

“I’m very pleased with this external recognition of our incredible faculty, staff, and students,” said President Dr. Stefanie Niles. “It reemphasizes our commitment to student success and the outstanding learning environment that Cottey provides.”

Colleges ranked in the Best Regional Colleges category focus almost entirely on the undergraduate experience and offer a broad range of programs in the liberal arts in fields such as business, education, the sciences, and humanities. Regional colleges include both public and private institutions. In total, 86 colleges were ranked from 12 states comprising the Midwest region.

“Rankings provide students and their parents/guardians an additional resource as they evaluate which college is best for them,” said. Dr. Niles. “Additionally, these rankings help with name recognition. Some people will see these rankings who may not have heard of Cottey otherwise.”
