Cottey College Ranked As the Best Regional College in the Midwest

NEVADA, MO—Cottey College is once again ranked as the #1 Best Regional College in the Midwest in the U.S. News & World Report 2022-2023 Best Colleges Rankings.
This marks the seventh consecutive year Cottey has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report and the second time in three years that the College has been ranked as the #1 Best College in the Midwest Region. In addition, Cottey was also ranked #12 in Social Mobility and #26 in Best Value School in the Regional Colleges rankings.
“I’m very pleased with this external recognition of our incredible faculty, staff, and students,” said President Dr. Stefanie Niles. “It reemphasizes our commitment to student success and the outstanding learning environment that Cottey provides.”
Colleges ranked in the Best Regional Collegescategory focus almost entirely on the undergraduate experience and offer a broad range of programs in the liberal arts in fields such as business, education, the sciences, and humanities. Regional colleges include both public and private institutions. In total, 86 colleges were ranked from 12 states comprising the Midwest region.
“Rankings provide students and their parents/guardians an additional resource as they evaluate which college is best for them,” said. Dr. Niles. “Additionally, these rankings help with name recognition. Some people will see these rankings who may not have heard of Cottey otherwise.”
Cottey is one of five schools in Missouri to be ranked in the top 50 as a Best Regional College in the Midwest rankings. The complete rankings are available online at www.usnews.com/colleges.
Cottey College is an independent, liberal arts and science college for women located in Nevada, Missouri. Its residential student capacity of 350 typically represents 40 states and 20 countries. Cottey is owned by the P.E.O. Sisterhood, an international women’s organization of over 210,000 members, making Cottey the only nonsectarian college in the United States owned and supported by women for women.
