Careers in Biology

Graduate School

Many post graduates of a biology degree will find themselves back in school to earn a masters or PhD in a variety of fields. Graduate school opens doors to research careers, university teaching, and specialized scientific roles.

Medical and Health Professions

In an interview with Cottey Biology professor Dr. Nancy Khon, she tells us that “You can go to med school with pretty much any degree, as long as you do the prereqs”. What this means for our fellow readers is that biology is a great gateway degree to help get you into med school.

Lab Technician

This career path allows you to work straight out of bachelors school and typically requires no further education. However, depending on the company you apply for there may be other requirements so make sure to research when applying!
