Overall, confidence plays such a key role in the success of our futures. It is so important that we remember to celebrate ourselves and what we bring to the table. I, myself, am very thankful I found a community that fosters exactly that. At Cottey I am not only supported by my friends and mentors, but I am also challenged. The professors here at Cottey want to see you succeed, and they give you the tools to earn your success.
In my accounting class this year, I have really struggled. One could say accounting is not my greatest strength, perhaps even my greatest weakness. Fortunately, my professor’s support has given me the confidence to learn accounting.
The environment at Cottey has allowed me to apply myself and learn through trial and error with the help of my professor and classmates. Persistence is paying off in my accounting classes, even though it’s a subject that doesn’t come naturally to me. The confidence I’ve gained from being encouraged to try, fail, grind, and shine is something that will stick with me for the rest of my life.
