Quotes About Women’s Confidence: Togetherness

Date Posted: July 10, 2026 Author: Jessie Mick

In these troubling times a lot of my strength comes from the people I surround myself with. I value safe spaces that welcome and include people, and in these spaces we find confidence to be our best selves. I hope you can find bits of that in these quotes!

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”   – Margaret Meade

“I think realizing that you’re not alone, that you are standing with millions of your sisters around the world is vital.”   Malala Yousafzai

“Friends. Sisters. Mothers. Professors. When women affirm women, it unlocks our power. It gives us permission to shine brighter.”   – Elaine Welteroth

“I can promise you that women working together – linked, informed, and educated – can bring peace and prosperity to this forsaken planet.”   – Isabel Allende

Confidence, Togetherness, and Strength at Cottey

During my first year of college, I found myself hours away from home with no friends or family. With that came a lot of loneliness. I also struggled to find my footing in the new course load that college brought.

This led me to struggle with finding my confidence in the new environment. Thankfully, I found a friend on my track team whom I formed a bond with. She always invited me to lift weights and get food, which helped me get out of my room. Being part of the track team gave me structure and purpose, slowly making me feel like I belonged. Competing, training, and celebrating small wins with my teammates reminded me what I was capable of. Professors learned my name, classmates became friends, and campus began to feel less like a place I lived and more like a community I was part of. Cottey didn’t just help me adjust, it helped me grow into someone braver, stronger, and more sure of who I am.

“I want a school where girls are not merely taught, but inspired.”   – Virginia Alice Cottey, Founder
