Full ArticleAnxiety about the future seems to be at an all-time high, especially among young women. A 2025 poll conducted by NBC News found, “Young women (18-29) were most likely to say they felt anxious or worried about the future, with 66% reporting they were anxious or worried most or almost all the time.” This is a shocking statistic.
I can personally attest to these statistics in my day-to-day life as a college student. Thoughts like “Will I find a job,” “How will I make a living,” and “Will I be able to buy a house one day?” come up nearly every day!

One way to combat dread and anxiety about the future is through community connection. Building camaraderie with others, helping them, and allowing those around you to be a support system are age-old ways to get out of your own head.
A study conducted in 2023 corroborates this assertion, concluding that, “Higher perceived social support among young adults is linked to 22-47% lower odds of suffering from severe anxiety.”

Thankfully, I’ve found a community in which these anxieties are soothed. When you are surrounded by a community of people who believe in your success, fears and doubts fade to nothing. Knowing an entire organization has your back helps you feel confident and empowered, leading you to possibilities you never thought possible.
