Meet Our Faculty
Kristin Dowdy
Professor Dowdy is a dancer, educator, and choreographer from St. Louis, MO. Ms. Dowdy received her MFA in dance from The College at Brockport, State University of New York and BFA in dance performance from Ball State University, where she also earned a minor in business.
Kristin teaches courses in ballet, tap, jazz, musical theater, and modern dance. One pillar of Professor Dowdy’s pedagogical philosophy is that dance is for everyone, and she actively fosters environments that allow all students to develop as artists and dance practitioners.
Additional Information
Kristin has been recognized for her choreography and sound design by the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF Region 4) and has been selected to present at multiple conferences including the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC), American College Dance Association (ACDA Northeast), and National Collegiate Honors Council.
While living in New York City, Kristin was a member of two-education based dance companies, “Jessica Lewis Arts” and “Andrew Jannetti & Dancers.” Since 2024, Kristin has been a professional company member with Ambo Dance Theatre in Louisville, KY where she continues to perform and collaborate with the company.
