AH316 Data Analysis for Allied Health
This course focuses on statistical data and terminology as they apply to allied health practice. Students will learn the importance of statistics in performing data analysis and will be introduced to basic statistical procedures.

PY301 Abnormal Psychology
A study of the causes and treatments of behavior disorders. Special attention is given to relevant diagnostic and legal issues.

PY351 Introduction to Counseling
A study of basic theories and methods of counseling and psychotherapy, including: behavioral, cognitive, and humanistic approaches to counseling, client analysis, and interviewing techniques. Emphasizes goals, responsibilities, and ethical problems in the counseling relationship.

BEH215 Motivational Interviewing
This course provides students the opportunity to explore the evolution of motivational interviewing and different motivational interviewing techniques. Emphasis will be placed on aligning techniques with specific psychological disorders and the integration of motivational interviewing skills with treatment planning. Students will also compare/contrast motivational interviewing with therapeutic communication with the understanding that both will be used in their practice.

Prepares students for work in a variety of settings including counseling and applied behavior analysis offices and organizations.
Behavioral Health degree graduates will be able to:
- Develop and incorporate the principles of therapeutic communication and client education into practice.
- Identify the barriers as well as the facilitators to improving the health of individuals, families, and communities.
- Provide care in an ethical manner by demonstrating acceptance of clients beliefs, providing accessible care for clients, and advocating for clients.
