Cottey College opens The Sophia Gymnasium
Nevada, MO—Cottey College is pleased to announce the opening of The Sophia Gymnasium on campus. The gymnasium space is located in Hinkhouse Center, formerly the site of the swimming pool.

This marks the eighth consecutive year Cottey has been ranked in the top 10 by U.S. News & World Report. Additionally, Cottey was ranked #4 in top performers in Social Mobility and #21 Best Value School among Regional Colleges in the Midwest.

U.S. News & World Report’s Best Regional Colleges category includes institutions that focus primarily on the undergraduate experience and offer a wide range of programs in areas such as business, education, sciences, and the liberal arts. Regional colleges span both public and private institutions, with 94 colleges ranked across 12 Midwest states.
“These rankings help raise Cottey’s profile, introducing more people to the distinctive opportunities we offer,” said Dr. Niles. “I’m particularly pleased by the recognition of Cottey as a top performer in social mobility. We have long been committed to offering first-generation and low-income college students opportunities to realize their college-going goals.”
