Serenbetz Summer Scholars
Partnering with non-profit agencies in Chicago, the Serenbetz Summer Scholar Program offered three students a competitive 8-week paid internship opportunity that is not available in the local Nevada, Missouri community.
Specific effort was made to partner with organizations that align with the Serenbetz threads (women’s leadership, social responsibility, and global awareness). These selected students will spend their summer making a difference for the non-profit community in Chicago.

Riley Severance, World Relief
I am particularly drawn to World Relief Chicago because of their commitment to help low-income migrant and refugee families. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to their team and learn from their experienced staff.

Kyleigh Sigears, Chicago Angels
Considering my academic background in both the education and business departments, I know I will fit seamlessly into the Chicago Angels organization as they work to rebuild and rebrand their programming in Chicago.

Joan Nasara, GirlForward
I am passionate about empowering young girls to be the best in their society, no matter what field they specialize in. I come from a similar background of conflict and persecution, and I can relate personally to GirlForward because of its unique characteristics of aiding girls who have been displaced.
