Cottey College Welcomes Jerry White as Interim Vice President for Finance and Administration

Nevada, MO – Cottey College is pleased to announce the appointment of Jerry White as the interim Vice President for Finance and Administration. In his role, Jerry will oversee the business office, administrative computing, and the physical plant.

Jerry White joins Cottey College from Bethel University in Indiana, where he served as the Vice President for Administration and Finance since August 2019. He has also held similar roles at Culver Academies, Albion College, Spring Arbor University, and Huntington University.

Prior to his time in Higher Education, Jerry held accounting and financial services positions at reputable organizations such as Krouse, Kern & Co., Inc., Elkhart General Hospital, and Ernst & Young.

“We are very excited to welcome Jerry to Cottey,” said Dr. Stefanie Niles, President. “He brings a wealth of experience and expertise in higher education finance and administration and will provide great leadership for us in many areas as we continue to navigate the College forward.”

Jerry is a graduate of Anderson University, earning a degree in accounting. He later pursued his master’s degree in education from Purdue University, specializing in higher education finance. In addition, he is a Certified Public Accountant.

“I am eager to begin my time on campus and connect with the Cottey community,” said Jerry. “Cottey has a rich history in higher education, and I look forward to playing a role in guiding the organization’s operations to ensure outstanding educational opportunities for women.

Jerry has also held several leadership positions within the Central Association of College and University Business Officers (CACUBO). Currently, he is chairing the 2023 Annual Conference Program Committee. He is also a member of the Indiana CPA Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Jerry and his wife, Polly, have been married for 34 years and are proud parents of three children. They currently reside in Niles, MI.

Jerry will begin his role on July 31.
