Meet Our Professors

JULIE TIETZ, PH.D.

Professor of Psychology

Dr. Julie Tietz received her B.A. in psychology from Rice University, her M.A. (1995) in Experimental Psychology, and her Ph.D. (1998) in Developmental Psychology from Texas Tech University. In 2001, Dr. Tietz joined the faculty at Cottey College in the department of psychology. She is a member of the following professional organizations: the Southwestern Psychological Association, the Society for the Teaching of Psychology, and APA Division 35, Psychology of Women.

Her teaching interests include development, gender, and sexuality. Dr. Tietz is particularly committed to service learning as an educational vehicle and coordinates an afterschool program in which students gain valuable experience working with underserved children.
